What is Proficiency Lab?

⇢ Each month, you access the Skill Builder and you will immerse yourself in authentic English materials such as podcasts, articles, TED talks, or videos.

Before our live session, you engage with the selected material, preparing yourself for in-depth discussion and analysis during our monthly meetings.

⇢ During our live sessions, we delve into the vocabulary, dissect the themes, and explore the nuances of the chosen material.

This interactive exchange allows you to deepen your understanding of the language while honing your analytical and critical thinking skills.

⇢ But the learning doesn’t stop there. Following each session, you have the opportunity to expand your studies through quizzes, writing tasks, and vocabulary exercises in the Study Pack.

With personalised feedback from Kerin, you can track your progress and refine your language proficiency at their own pace.

Each month, you’ll access the Skill Builder in the platform. This is a carefully curated task designed to immerse you in authentic English and strengthen your listening and reading skills.

You’ll explore topics like global current events, literature, culture, and entertainment through podcasts, articles, TED Talks and videos, keeping you intellectually stimulated and excited to learn.

Before our live session, you’ll complete the assignment, preparing yourself for a rich, interactive discussion.

○ Analyse the material in-depth, exploring its vocabulary and themes

Study Pack and Personalised Feedback

After the session, the learning continues with the Study Pack. You will find quizzes, writing tasks, and vocabulary exercises. Conversation Class led by Kerin

Conversation Class isn’t just a chat. The advanced English conversation class gives you the opportunity for speaking practise through structured, thought-provoking tasks designed to:

○ Improve your fluency, pronunciation, and overall communication skills.
○ Expand your vocabulary in meaningful, practical ways.

Every week brings a new focus, and with Kerin’s guidance, you’ll feel confident and capable in any conversation.

Grammar Lab

Tighten up your grammar use, ensuring accuracy and clarity in everything you say or write.
This workshop-style class is far from traditional grammar drills.
Instead, you’ll:
> Review and refine your grammar through group discussions, problem-solving activities, and dynamic practice.
> Identify common mistakes and learn to fix them in a supportive, interactive environment.

How do I join the programme?

Joining is easy! Start by filling out this short application form to become a member. After that, you’ll have a quick chat with Kerin to confirm your English level and find the group that’s the best fit for your level and learning style.

When are the live lessons online?

The live lessons happen on Zoom and are held on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 5 PM, 6 PM, and 7 PM CET. You’ll be placed in a group that matches your level and fits your availability.
*There are no lessons in August

How do I access the Skill Builder and Study Pack?

Once you enrol, you’ll get access to the Skill Builder, Study Pack and also the library of past classes. These resources are self-paced. You can work on them whenever it suits your schedule—no fixed times, just flexible learning at your convenience!

How much does it cost?

There are different course options to choose from and you can choose a 3 month, 6 month or annual plan.

3 month course:

What happens if I miss a lesson?

Due to the organisational requirements of group courses, missed lessons are non-refundable and non-recuperable. However, don’t worry! If you miss a lesson, you’ll still have access to recording of the Virtual Classroom, along with the Skill Builder and Self-Study Pack to keep up with your progress.
Please note that Conversation Class will not be recorded.

When can I join the programme?

You’re welcome to start at the beginning of any month (except August), as long as there’s space available. We’ll do our best to find the perfect spot for you!

I can’t attend the lesson times. Can I still join?

If these times aren’t convenient for you, you might prefer the on-demand version of the programme or opt for individual lessons tailored to your schedule.

Is this Programme right for my level?

This programme is designed for adults with a strong upper-intermediate to proficient level of English (C1, and C2).
